Feeling confused? Have a cuppa!

Have you ever wondered why grandma had it right? How did she know that when things got tough it was best to just take a moment to sit, share a cup of tea and then it all seemed to feel better so you could talk about what it was that was stressing you out…

Well now here you go, drinking tea has been linked to good brain health! That’s right the old cuppa helps you with brain fitness.

A study lead by the National University of Singapore has found that regular tea drinkers have better organised brain regions, which is linked to healthier cognitive function.

The study headed up by Prof. Feng Lee of NUS collaborated with researchers at the University of Essex and University of Cambridge, looked at the neuroimaging data of 36 older adults and conclusively found in Prof. Lee’s words "Our results offer the first evidence of positive contribution of tea drinking to brain structure, and suggest that drinking tea regularly has a protective effect against age-related decline in brain organisation."

So, added to previous studies which have shown that drinking tea can improve mood and help to prevent cardiovascular disease; we now can suggest that regular tea drinking can also be linked to a 50 percent reduction in the risk of developing dementia.

Not a bad drop I say!
